My.Yo organic yogurt starters are used to make yogurt and are suitable for cow’s milk, lactose-free milk and selected plant-based drinks. Depending on the starter, the result can be a mild or more traditional yogurt.
The lactic acid cultures used in our starters have been used in food production for many years. All starters are certified organic according to the EU organic regulation and contain no flavourings or preservatives.
For plant-based yogurt preparation, suitable thickeners such as agar-agar may be used. One sachet is sufficient for one litre of yogurt and can be re-cultured several times.

- Lacto Pro includes selected live cultures

Which yogurt starter is right for me?
For beginners and children we recommend Mild, as it produces yogurt with very little acidity. Bulgarian is ideal if you prefer traditional yogurt flavour. If you want to use plant-based milk, choose our Vegan starter. Lacto Pro + Inulin is suitable if you would like to add dietary fibre to your yogurt.
Can I reuse my homemade yogurt as a starter?
Yes, this is possible with several of our starters. Use 2–3 tablespoons of finished yogurt for the next litre of milk. However, texture and consistency may gradually decrease after several generations. For consistent results we recommend using fresh starter regularly.

Unopened and stored in a cool, dry place, our organic yogurt starters can be kept for several months. The exact best-before date can be found on the package. After opening, the starter should be used promptly.
How much starter do I need for 1 litre of yogurt?
In general,1 sachet of yogurt starter is used for 1 litre of milk. The exact dosage and instructions are provided on the product packaging.
Do the starters also work with plant-based milk?
Our Vegan organic yogurt starter is specially developed for plant-based drinks such as soy or oat drinks. The other starters (Mild, Bulgarian, Lacto Pro) are designed for dairy milk and work best with cow’s, goat’s or sheep’s milk.
